Celebrating the Millennium
has obviously (and not always successfully) taxed greater
brains than ours. For us a triple theme was suggested:-
- A new start with God
- A new start with the community
- A new start with the world

It was felt that while there was a need
to look forward, particularly to the concept of Jubilee
and the Third World debt, there was also a desire for
thanksgiving for our heritage. A new start with God
prompted thoughts of St John chapter 1; this was one of
the appointed readings for the turn of the year. So our
banner is about words and The Word and how it was, and
is, spread. |
